Namitha is ahead of Nayanthara

Namitha is much ahead of Nayanthara when it comes to Google statics. Sexy Namitha (aka Namitha Vankawala) has emerged as the topmost south Indian actress in Google's 2008 India's Top Searches on Mobile list. She beat down her competitors like Shriya Saran, Trisha and Nayanthara who are also quite popular in the south, but apparently don't expose as much as Namitha does on and off screen. In Google's top search list, only two Indian actresses are listed – Katrina Kaif at number six and Namitha at number 9.

Namitha apparently wasn't always on the heavier side but put on weight for her roles down south because the audiences there prefer voluptuous heroines. Her biggest hit in Tamil has been Billa (2008) with Ajith, a remake of SRK's Don where she played the role of Eesha Koppikhar and had more screen space than Eesha had in Don.

Instead of acting opposite heroes her age, the actress is known to act with much older heroes like Venkatesh, Vijaykanth, Sarath Kumar, Ravi Chandran, Parthiban and Mammootty. When Namitha was in Mumbai in 2006 to promote her Hindi film Love Ke Chakkar Mein, she had said that she was looking forward to more Bollywood films and exposing wasn't a problem for her if the script demanded.

A pair of shoes worth Rs 2 lakh for Asin

Someone once said, "A pair of shoes can change your life. Just ask Cinderella." And the same holds true for changing a film's budget. Vipul Shah who had an interesting experience while shopping with current flavour actress Asin who stars opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan in Vipul's upcoming film. While shooting for the film, Asin picked up an exquisite pair of shoes worth nearly Rs 2 lakh from a store in Paris. Vipul had to pay for the expensive shoes without a murmur.

Asin it seems complained on the sets in Paris that the shoes given to her to wear were uncomfortable. Our source said, "Vipul had arranged for a nice pair of shoes for Asin for a particular scene which was to be shot with Asin and Ajay Devgan. Unfortunately, Asin was quite uncomfortable in them. Thereafter Asin and Vipul rushed to a store to pick up a new pair of shoes for the actress. They came back to resume the shoot very quickly since Ajay was waiting on the sets."

At the shoe store, Vipul waited patiently while Asin looked around to find that perfect pair. After a few minutes, Asin picked up a pair of black shoes with studs.

When Vipul asked how much the shoes cost, the shopkeeper said, "3000 euros (Rs 2 lakh approx)."
Surprisingly, Vipul did not ask Asin to look for another pair. Even if he was shocked, he did not let that show. Clearly, he did not want to disappoint the lead actress of his film.

Our source added, "Asin didn't ask how much the pair cost and Vipul did not even tell her how much he had to pay."

When contacted, Vipul confirmed, "Yes, I bought a pair of shoes worth Rs 2 lakh for Asin. We had to continue the shooting without any hiccups. I never compromise on the quality of my films." Talk about pampering actors from head to toe.
